Abu Dhabi Attracts Indian Outbound Tourism from Kolkata

India is the No. 1 Overseas Source Market for Abu Dhabi

All India, 3rd December 2015 : Abu Dhabi is continuing its surge as the preferred outbound destination for the up-market and aspirational Indian traveller. Continuing the high focus and emphasis on India as the leading overseas source market for hotel guests, Abu Dhabi Tourism & Culture Authority (TCA Abu Dhabi) recently organized a highly successful trade interaction in the key gateway of Kolkata.

Top-of-the-line travel professionals representing Kolkata and Eastern India Market were present and interacted with the TCA Abu Dhabi team for developing new itineraries and packages. Abu Dhabi welcomed 200,015 Indian hotel guests in January to September 2015, at a growth rate of 23% over the same period last year.

Bejan Dinshaw, Country Manager – India, TCA Abu Dhabi, said: Abu Dhabi has experienced consistently high double-digit growth from the Indian market over last few years. As the market matures, we are now placing greater emphasis on its growth potential, tailoring products to suit the needs of experiential Indian traveller. We endeavour to consolidate the destination’s growing popularity amongst the leisure, luxury and lifestyle holiday segment.

This trade initiative in Kolkata further reiterates our commitment to this market. We are here to present a diverse mix of Abu Dhabi attractions and expand our profile with the Indian travel trade, to stimulate further increase in Indian visitors to Abu Dhabi in 2016.

Abu Dhabi is fast becoming the new hot-spot for the high-end Indian traveller and as we continue with our marketing and promotional activities the response from the Indian market has been extremely positive. Our activities with the travel trade emphasise our continued initiatives with all stakeholders on a pan-India level, especially in the key outbound gateway of Kolkata.

We want to showcase Abu Dhabi as the perfect choice for Family Holidays, Duty Free Shopping, Arts & Culture, Destination Weddings & Honeymoon, Golfing, Formula 1 Racing and MICE facilities.

Abu Dhabi is closer than ever for the Indian market, with a huge choice of flights and customised packages. The Etihad-Jet Airways combine operates daily direct flights between Abu Dhabi and Kolkata, providing excellent connectivity in a short span of just over three hours.
