“Monaco Tourism Conducted Residential Workshop in Udaipur”

All India, 22nd September 2014:Monaco Government Tourist & Convention Bureau prime objective has been to carve out a niche market among the Indian travelers. India has always been an important emerging market for Monaco. From time to time Monaco has taken numerous steps to enhance the destination visibility and knowledge.

In order to further educate the Indian travel trade about the destination and facilitate interaction with the private sector of Monaco, Residential Workshop was organized at Udaipur. Travel agents from 13 different cities i.e Delhi, Mumbai, Ahmedabad, Bangalore, Chennai, Vadodra, Kolkata, Kanpur, Nagpur, Pune, Chandigarh, Amritsar and Hyderabad were invited for the Residential Workshop.

The objective of the Residential Workshop was to bring potential and selective travel agents from across India under one roof and showcase product options for leisure, experiential, special occasion and honeymoon travellers.

Monaco is known for its scenic beauty, classy lifestyle, spectacular architecture and renowned casinos and the list is never ending when it come to luxury and glamour.

The workshop was designed to share insights of the destination as well as Indian consumer’s luxury aspirations in a fun and business environment.  The event was well received and appreciated by the Travel Trade.

The renowned Indian print and television journalist, columnist and talk show host, Mr. Vir Sanghvi was the Keynote speaker at the welcome dinner. It is imperative to note that this was the first of its kind of inaugural session where NTO had very senior journalist throwing light on the destination in Indian market. He spoke about luxury travel and Monaco as a preferred destination for leisure and grandeur in French Riviera.

Mr. Jamal Shaikh, the Editorial Director of the most influential luxury magazine, Robb Report was the guest speaker for the second day. He shared an insight of how luxury is perceived in different ways and Monaco being a synonym to it.

Mr. Guillaume Rose, President, Monaco Government Tourist and Convention Authority said, “India is a growing market and we want to engage the travel trade to promote Monaco as a destination for leisure travellers. We see a lot of potential in this market and our prime objective was to create a platform for the India travel trade and Monaco Hotel partners for more business opportunities. It was a great learning experience. Spending quality time with the Indian travel Trade has given us enhanced insight into the needs and demands of the Indian travellers. The thought process behind selecting Udaipur was to reflect the royal aura and magnificence of the city. An effort was made to project the best possible standards of royalty that is befitting and representative of the character of destination Monaco.”

Treasure hunt was organized where the travel agents and Monaco delegation took part and were divided into teams. It was a team building exercise and learning about Monaco in a fun and frolic manner like F1 race was replicated, teams had to put their creative shoes on and paint keeping in mind Monaco as a theme, etc.

Royal Gala dinner was held at the Fateh Prakash Palace where the Guest of Honor was Maharaj Kumar Sahib Lakshyaraj Singh Mewar of Udaipur.

Motivated by the stupendous success of the Residential Workshop, Monaco Tourism is inspired to take this event to the bigger level the next year.
